Mexican rebozos are well known in the world due to their magic and versatility!
They are a national identity piece with hundreds and hundreds of presence and history (since pre-Hispanic times).
No other woven piece of fabric has been made with so much love, patience, and care from our Mexican artisans, that put their heart and soul into weaving one by one with the techniques shown by their parents and grandparents.
Within its multiple uses, there are 2 for which they are highly valued:
1) As a powerful tool in natural birth by doulas, who use them to help birthing woman release back pain, and stress, with a soft massage, shift baby with the technique known as Rebozo Manteada, for sealing ceremony after birth, and belly wrap to help womb return to its position.
2) As a baby wrap carrier, because it is a very soft fabric without buckles or straps that will adapt to the baby`s and mother’s body, turning it into an ergonomic carrier, that will help you bond, and facilitating breastfeeding, among multiple benefits from babywearing.
And it is said by our grannies that rebozos have magical powders because babies fall asleep as soon as they are carried (when babies sleep, they grow), this magic comes from the artisan care and dedication in weaving them… (but shhh, this is a secret !! )
